Last week, I heard back about the last of the six grant opportunities that I applied for this spring. It was a very successful "season" for me. Of these six external grants, I was awarded three--an unusually high "hit" rate. Two will support my oral history project this summer in Washington Heights, and the third provides funding to visit the American Jewish Archives in Cincinnati next year. I'm honored that my work has been recognized in this way. These grants are endorsements of my project and its possibilities, and my hope is that with this support I can fulfill the potential of the dissertation and do justice to the history of the Jewish Community Center.
